GOOD DAY ALL I JUST FINISHED A REBUILD ON A LIONEL BERKSHIRE NUMBER 6-38076 FROM CATALOG 2004 VOLUME 2

IT WAS A C&O ROAD FIRST AND I CHANGED IT TO NEW YORK CENTRAL ROAD. I BOUGHT THIS ENGINE FROM A VERY NICE FORUM MEMBER AND I TOOK IT TOTALLY APART AND REBUILT THE SMOKE UNIT WITH A NEW 8 OHM RESISTOR AND PACKED NEW BATTING IN AND ALSO DRILLED OUT THE AIR INTAKE. THIS ENGINE WAS TOTALLY REPAINTED AND RE LETTERED AND THEN SPRAYED WITH GLOSS COAT. THIS WAS ALL VERY INEXPENSIVE TO DO AND I THINK IT CAME OUT PRETTY NICE AND THE SMOKE OUTPUT IS AWESOME. ALSO

IT WAS CHANGED TO 4 CHUFFS PER REV OR 3 PLUS CHUFFS PER REV. SO I JUST THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE.

Are you sure it's 8 ohms? That's an awful amount of heat.

Yes Rob 8 OHMS that's the same resistor that was in the unit.

I made sure before I did the install.
