The Rocky Mountain Division of the TCA is processing collections for upcoming auctions and the piece in the photo below was submitted. The chassis appears similar but not identical to a Voltamp 2130 Steeple Cab. The body is homemade and has the characteristics of a steeple cab. Also, the position of the body mounting screws suggests a Voltamp connection. Can anyone provide some insight on this interesting piece?

The RMD Fall auction catalog of nearly 700 lots is set and includes a variety of trains and related items. Lionel and Flyer prewar are well represented. Photos of the lots are online at rmdtca.smugmug.com. Click on the Gilbert Mini-Craft newsstand platform. The unique steeple cab is scheduled for the Spring of 2020. Thanks!

Sorry, Rob, but we’re not sophisticated enough to support online bidding; but, we’d welcome any TCA members who would like to attend the 2-day auction in person. October in Denver isn’t bad duty! An ad in the TCA Headquarters News with details is forthcoming. Thanks for your interest.
