Maybe a dumb question on my part but will the structure store walnuts? or is this a structure made on Walnut wood?

The silos will store walnuts. I do not know exactly how the process works. I am constructing this for a fellow in California that is modeling a certain area. There is a Diamond Walnut Plant in this area.

Seriously though, it looks very nice. Wish I could scratch build things like that, my kits don't even turn out as good as your scratch buildings do. You and some other folks here are very talented model builders and we enjoy seeing your work.

Here are a couple of progress pictures of the walnut tanks. I added a little gingerbread that just about hides the tanks.

Nice...and definitely original, not found on every layout..I wonder if walnuts are

shipped in (probably go out prepackaged)....and if any is by train (i.e.,,covered

hoppers of walnuts in, boxcars of cartons of cellophan bagged walnuts out?)

What are the curved dome tank tops originally?

Are there walnut hopper cars perhaps? To take walnuts by the ton to large plants like this.   Or do they just bring them in to a small local facility like this model, but only  on trucks, process and package them there, and then shipping them out?

All the materials are from Plastruct. The heads (domes) are code VHD-300.

The facility being modeled was a Diamond Walnut Plant located on the train tracks in the vicinity of Tall Oaks, California. I am only building the tanks. The building has already been constructed.

I think the walnuts are harvested and delivered by truck to the plant. I constructed a small shed and a dump area in front of the tanks based on the pictures I was given.
