Has anybody actualy built any of the Walthers O scale Hiawatha passenger car kits and if so, how did you deal with the window frames that are larger than the window openens on the car side?

Each car requiers about 30 #76 holes drilled into the sides and ends. After numerous broken drill bits I worked out a method that elemiates the broken drill bits, I punch the holes first with a vary sharp ice pick with a maple board as a back up than use one of the broken drill bits in a pin vise to bring it to size. works great and eleminates screwing up the finish

Are you refering to the whole dome or just the window frames. If the plastic dome is intack you could use it as a pattern, filling it with foam and either find a place that does vacume forming ( local community college might have a class where you might get the part made as a class project ) or might be able to fine plans to build a vacume forming unit on the internet. I do remember seeing an articale in one of the train magazines on how to do it.
