WBB 44-Tonner: Diving In or Sitting by the Pool?

I'd like a little more info first......but it looks good and I'll get one more than likely.

It looked great at York  but it does not have command and that right now is a turn off for me. 

I wonder if the  ERR  boards would fit. 

I'll be sitting for this first round. They aren't available in the road that I model and correct phase, and I'm holding out for MTH to produce one, hopefully with DCS and in NYOW.

100% conventional here........so that will not be an issue.

I was very impressed with the one on display at The Big Train Show in Ontario last week. Very nice looking and was surprised at how small it was in comparison to the Lionel switchers. I'm a tin guy, so it's not on my shopping list, but a nice looking engine.

MTH announced at York that a 44 tonner with Proto 3 will be in the next catalog. 

O Gauge is not my primary scale, but if one crosses my path at a good price and I'm in the mood, and have money then yes, I'll definitely get one. It appears like they will be nice models. 

I am happy they are making it for all of those who have requested this engine, but it is not for me.

They have been saying this for 3 years   Wish WBB would do an undecorated in the meantime   There are thousands of road name possibilities with the 44 tonner

I will be diving in ....likely numerous times! I will repaint two for the Coudersport & Port Allegany....."The Allegheny River Route"......and yes, both spellings are correct...."Allegany" is an early version that stuck to the name of this McKean County PA. town, Port Allegany.....

Yep, I would do one for Pacific Car & Foundry. Back in the fifties I would watch that little guy at PACCAR push out flats loaded with mechanized howitzers for the Great Northern to pick up.

I'm holding too, since Bachman isn't making it in NYO&W or Middletown and New Jersey I'm just going to wait until they are released. I'm sure there will be enough of them to go around and it won't matter which one of their road names because I'll have to get mine repainted. 

By then MTH should be announcing what they are coming out with, and I'll take it from there. I may have to get one of each brand .

I'm in the water already. I will strip mine, 2R it and paint it Fernwood, Columbia & Gulf.

I saw it at York and was impressed. However I don't have a need for an engine that size. But yes I would buy one if needed. WBB has already upgraded to sound so if we keep pushing them toward remote control the Williams concept will be lost completely.

I'm going to get the PRR one, and it'll have command, sound, and electrocouplers before it gets pressed into service.

I will wait to see what MTH will offer in the next catalog.  If MTH offers them in B&M livery,  I am in for a pair of them.  I'm in for a Maine Central version, too.

It is a neat locomotive and most likely I will get the PRR version.  Even though it is not command control, I'll bet it will run nicely for switching operations.  Of course, I will also like to have one of the MTH units with command.  I have several freight operations that could use a 44 tonner!
