Weathered Super O

I have found in my hoard a box full of Super O tracks that at first appeared to be corroded and upon further inspection these appear to have been painted to look weathered. I can't figure out how someone would have done this to over 200 sections of track, each piece is identical and not a spec of paint where it should not be. Do you think someone would have made a jig o sorts and sprayed these? It just baffles my mind how long this would have taken someone to do all of these by hand. Comments would be appreciated.

Looks like they used tape with some touch up afterword.

That's exactly my thinking. The lines of the paint on the ties are all very straight as if tape was used.

Tape the ties and tops of rails and have at it.

They would also have had to put little pieces of tape below the base plates on each tie, inside and outside of the rail for both rails. Super tedious.

Every time I see Super O the more I like it. Its to bad they stopped making it.
