The link to my layout is above,  Since I am working my 24 hr shift today, I hope that what I did during the week will count.  I was able to finally get some landscaping done on the majority of the city area.  I spent a lot of time on the fire scene.

Wonderful...I love Hopper. There is a upscale shop in our town that sells small (about 7"x7") framed scenes like this using Arttista figures. They are priced at about $150. each.

I recently started working on the roundhouse again, its coming along and finally starting to look like something.

 

It started out as this last April.

 

Still limited to the Small loop in my Den left over from Christmas.

My wife keeps wondering when I'll take it down. I think not until I can run trains on the new Big Layout in the Barn, which is in single digit temps right now.

Picked up this set at the Amhearst Big E Show last Sat.

Even better than the NS.  If I show my son these photos, he is definitely going to want me to weather our Amtrak diesels and electrics.   He has been asking about weathering.  He loves realism and your work would be the deciding factor.

Mike, again, thank you for the compliment. I have been on the fence about weathering for the past few years, after seeing Laidoffsick's thread in the 3RS forum I sort of spur of the moment bought the airbrush and paint and gave it shot. Not only is it easier than I thought it would be, I am still blown away at the difference it makes.

This is the mountain that I constructed this past month.  I worked on it in 8 different sections so I didn't have to be on my knees atop the layout. All constructed out of scrap 1.5 and 2 inch insulation and the tippi tool.

I have one of those. Was thinking of separating the engine from the radiator and have it destined for a shipyard. Like the surgical modifications. Outstanding. 

Not a train, but a pretty cool piece of equipment -- 1957 VW Pickup truck with drop sides. Turns out the owner and I ran in some of the same circles back in the mid-late 1970's. This would be something cool to have in O scale.

 

 

 

Another weakness I have (but not the time, funds, or talent to support) is vintage automobiles. This is a 1929 Duesenberg which took third in its class at the recent Concours de Elegance at Trump National Golf Course in Rancho Palos Verdes. This particular car has been in the family for almost 60 years and was restored several years ago. It's one of five Duesenbergs that is NOT owned by a millionaire. Jack "The Apprentice" Kemph's father did the head work (DOHC 32-valve straight 8) on the car and was making some cosmetic repairs on the chassis. I don't recall seeing any Duesenberg 1:43 models out there, but that might be because back then you bought a chassis and had the car built to specifications by a separate coach builder.

 Ummm, who makes that in O scale? Mine is slightly larger. I would like to get one in O for a scene by my engine shed.

Its the same as yours. 1/25 scale Caterpillar Diesel Generator by Norscott.  I just modified it:  I took off the generator and radiator, reworked the intake manifold, dumped the large air filters/turbochargers, added a computer printer gear for a flywheel, and reworked some of the cooling hoses.
