I took apart a sign I made a few years ago and wanted to save the lights I installed.  I noticed there was a slight burn mark.  Any ideas here?  This is a "factory" joint, not something I soldered.  Is this burn dangerous?  Should I discard it and replace?  It's interesting that the rest of the lights are ok, just the joint is burned.

In order to cause that burn, it would have had much more current running through it than those LEDs could possibly draw.  Possibilities include either a short (likely) or another 30 or 40 meters of LED strips!  (each 10 meter/300 LED strip draws 2A)

If all the lights work and the joint does not get hot, then it should be fine if you don't repeat the prior infraction.
