I wasn't looking for another FM, but a Railking SP Black Widow called out to me. It has been repainted to some awesomely horrible SP paint scheme but I couldn't resist for 150.00. Found two really nice Colber bubbling water towers in the box for 25 and 35. Anybody else find some good deal?

Found a different RPO for my friend that collects them ...for me: nichts, nada ,nuthin'. Only saw one model auto that I would have bought for less money.
Some platforms, water and oil columns, and other items from Dave with Crescent Locomotive, a couple of buildings from Harry Hieke (he has some beautiful things), a Dr Pepper sign from Miller Eng, several DVDs from OGR, and 2 boxcars from MTH. Also 8 boxcars in the White Hall at a good price.
My wife talked to Angela Trotta Thomas about doing a painting for us. She is going to send information to her.
We also asked a favor of Mrs McMuffin at the Korber booth and she could not have been nicer.
Bought two NEO 1:43 car models: 1953 Chrysler Gia concept car, and a 1941 Chevy woody wagon at the booth manned by DiecastDirect folks.
Two postwar Lionel metal 2457 caboose (full steps and lighted). Both in excellent condition. One with the box for $30., and one without a box for $15. I saw a few others in the same condition for $60.-$85., so I'm really happy getting these. This was the caboose of my childhood.
Bought two cap guns in antique malls coming and going to York. Only found 2 at York, but I had no interest in either.
Only bumped into 3 people I knew. I assume the others ran in the other direction when they saw me.
Saw some $19.95 Menards cars for sale at York yesterday priced at $45.00.

It does not have the boxes but is literally near mint in appearance. From the short test run I gave it, I appears to run like a fine Swiss watch!

.....Regret slightly for not buying a 736 Berkshire. There was a gentleman in the purple hall selling a large Postwar collection with some really, really beautiful pieces. Same goes for a Williams/Bachmann modern paint scheme Amtrak Genesis. My thinking was I rarely run my Amtrak train now, why buy another one.....I'll have to check Mario's website.
I think I managed to list everything that somehow jumped into my bag to follow me home.
Last but certainly not least - I'm not a "warm and cuddly" person and I'm sure some would say I'm rather cold, plus several things I won't repeat. I was truly touched to hear that Mr Muffin, which bought Korber Models will be employing young, disabled folks in their factory/store to help. A truly bright moment of my day and something that truly reaffirmed my faith in humanity. So, so very happy to hear this.
Three things I saw really were "tops hits" in my book, in no particular order:
1) G Gauge, real, live coal fired steam Chinese 2-10-2 "QJ Class" steam locomotive. That was a little above my price range....
I really enjoyed getting a good look at it.
2) East Penn Traction Club layout. A local N scale train buddy is a member of their group but I've never seen a display in person. This was a very well done, small display. I've really come to enjoy traction and it was a really pleasure to see this display in operation as well as learn about it's operation and construction.
3) National Capital Tracker President Jack Frost's Washington DC Mall module, complete with Cherry Blossom trees. Just a very, very well done scene that I really enjoyed taking in. 
Many passenger cars and a Milwaukee MTH Pacific. Many parts from MTH to bring my parts stock uo to speed.
A GRJ Super Chuffer, an ERR hotbox kit, 2 Glen Snyder shelves. Various hotdogs but most of all friends, fun, and trains to watch in black and white halls. Great layouts.
* Got another postwar 2452X with box and insert, this purchase makes for seven 2452's in my inventory.
*Starting to acquire postwar Flyer, picked up two pieces of rolling stock.
*A 6X1/4 screw for my Wabash 2339...
*A "Doberman" hot dog
*Another enjoyable York experience...
Was looking for C&EI car for a neighbor. Saw a hopper in rough shape for $70. Later saw another in good shape for $90.
New one online (I know, not the same patina as postwar) for $50. Haven't heard back from the neighbor but I'm guessing they're going with new.
So I come home with nothing but memories
As usual I picked the MTH York Club Car and also purchased the last Railking Penn Central Gondola Car with Cover from the MTH booth and picked up a Railking PRR Semi-Scale Hopper Car,the Lionel Boston Red Sox Jersey Boxcar from Gryzboski's and signed up for a membership in the Lionel Collectors Club of America. All in all a pretty good day.
I got some more great memories as well as:
- one of the new scale PRR Madison sets with the constant voltage LED lighting
- 2 Atlas 8k gal tankers....of course one is a duplicate but at least it's a different road number....if anyone wants a good price on a Jones & Laughlin 8k tanker or has something to trade hit me up in an email 
- A MTH PRR crane car and tender
- a few Atlas reefers
- PRR operating passenger platform
- the latest DVD from OGR with Marty's and Mr Muffin's layouts

This was the biggest laugh at the meet and I couldn't resist conversing with the vendor when I saw the military flat cars from Menards for sale as well for $50...aisle to the right of the main door to the Silver Hall. Vendors like him give the hobby a bad name.

Big stuff, for me, was taking the plunge into command control by buying Lionel 990 Legacy Command Set and picking up NIB Polar Express Berkshire Whistle Steam 6-18754 ($180) to replace the small motor original we have.
Also bought a 3 pieces of rolling stock, lots of people for the layout (all makes from Lionel to Woodland to Homies, etc) , book on benchwork, half-dozen vehicles, and couple of MTH terminal blocks.
Biggest coupe might have been the backseat full of $1 pumpkins we bought from one of the Amish farms in Ronk. The house is going to look great for Halloween!
Thoroughly enjoyed York and a full day spent in Strasburg at all the train stops - both real and toy. Had a lot of nice conversations with people, learned a few more things, and enjoyed a couple of Indian summer days in a real nice part of the country.

A few things.....
Bought this Hudson in the Silver Hall in April 2015, for a fantastic price......a fellow was switching over to all Legacy and was clearing out his high end TMCC locomotives....I had Frank Timco replace a damaged smoke unit and I picked it up from him on Friday. I haven't run it in so long, it feels like a new engine.
Getting ready for our groups Holiday shows.
Filling up empty flats for my military train.
A little reading and video material.
By missing Weds and nearly all of Thursday, I missed seeing a few people......but all in all, a great trip.

Got away cheap this trip: TM's Hudson video, aluminum shell from an MTH 15" Sleeper Car, and a bag of assorted parts. Managed to walk away from great deals that I really didn't need / want (it's that "Wow, buy it" reflex).
Also got to see friends (missed a few that didn't make it to the meet). Wore my legs off but had a great time. When's April get here?

That price has to be incorrect......most prices for Engineer Earl I have seen have been under $150. Gryzboski website has it for under $135. Just posting this to save forum members if York vendors are overinflating some of their prices.

I bought Earl for 110. from Charles ro, gryboski was 150. Nicholas Smith was 130. The conductor was the same price. Earl is home safe and sound in his corner.
The other bargain was Charles Ro had the new vision line 3 pack of reefers for 199.00 they list for 299.99, how many grab them the rest had them at 215 and higher.

Not much this year. I bought:
- RailKing 4-story store for the National Capital Tracker's layout in the Black Hall.
- 4 packages of GGD seated people for my passenger cars.
- Used K-Line 18" PRR RPO to add to my PRR passenger train I plan to use on NCT layouts. It will be pulled by two Williams GG1s and will now be 14 cars total.
- Package (pair) of Atlas O Andrew Trucks to replace the trucks off an Atlas O boxcar I used for my 3rd Rail 6-Dome tank car (original 3rd Rail trucks had disintegrated).
-Woodland Scenics Camper figure set to add to my NCT modular layout.
I also bought this Williams scale UP HW passenger set
To get these parts to repair a PRR car.
I'll keep one car for parts, but not sure what I'll do with the remaining 4 cars.
While I did not spend much this year, I did enjoy meeting friends at the DCS and Legacy meetings, supporting the NCT's layout, and seeing others I knew while there.
Hey, guys, shhhhhhhh! Don't tell anyone where I am! With the deals I got, the cops and the FBI might be looking for me. I love Saturdays at the York Meet!!
I'm not totally sure what I came home with. The Voices are still counselling me on buying trains. As soon as they stop I can take inventory of what I brought home. 
Picked up a Septa mu set, amtrak information board and an autorack car to add to my freight set. This was my 1st experience at york and I enjoyed every minute of it. I definitely will be back in April 2017.

I bought only 3 items this year, 1) A Lionel "Great Lakes Express" "SSS" set from 1990 that I have wanted for quite some time, in like new condition, I wanted the 4 car set to run behind my 671, And because the owners cat had peed on the set box(was not included) I was able to purchase for $140.00! 2)Also purchased an "LGB" g gauge street car for a friend, and last 3) a book about "Pittsburgh Streamlined Trolleys" by Ken Springirth. All in all had a wonderful time, weather was beautiful, Hope the old body holds up to attend next October!

Anyway, I bought a lot of Atlas O track products for my upcoming layout build. A set of Vision reefers from C Ro. An Atlas double track Pratt bridge and a bunch of scenery/detail items.

I know where you got that engine for the same guy sold me the NYC heritage last year for $300. This year was able to get the Interstate ES44AC heritage non-powered for $135. Had been looking for a while.

He was in the white hall IIRC. 
I picked up a MTH Norfolk Southern Genset from him last October so I didn't hesitate when I saw the Monogahela NS Heritage ES44AC setting on his table. I've been looking for this one for a while as well.

Well, I certainly did find my SD60E, at Mr. Muffin's Trains. This will join the First Responders version I got earlier in the year:
Next up, my usual MTH York boxcar. Got 'em all back to the very first one, so keeping the streak going...(BTW, the OGR pin appearing in these photos is serving as a wheel chock--the floor has just enough of a tilt here to send free-rolling cars off the table)
Now, I know some have raised eyebrows at dealers offering Menard's cars, often for significantly more than you can get them for, but these flatcars are from the second 24-flatcar pack, and aren't available separately online--only in the physical stores. Now I have examples of the current roadnames without having to buy another 24-car pack (I did contemplate doing this, but I already have 30 of these flats). These were only $10 each.
From RPO Trains, comes this MTH Santa Fe coach and Metra (Amfleet) food-service car. My intent with these two (and the three baggage cars bought previously) is to model the Amtrak Exhibit Train. I already have the Genesis and F40PH locomotives, and these cars will make up the matching train.
Now that I have the necessary cars, I am also in the market for a custom painter to refinish these cars in Amtrak Phase III paint with the exhibit train numbers and insignia if possible. If you know of any who are accepting new work, please let me know.
I'm not normally into postwar, but some cursory research into what cars may have accompanied the 2343 Santa Fe units I got at an estate sale suggested that a typical Sunoco tanker and Lehigh Valley hopper may have been part of the consist. I don't know this for a fact--they just seem to fit in with the consist I have. These two came from Neely's in Purple Hall, the large dealer in the northeast corner with many tables of used trains. This came from a sizable pile of similar cars, so I examined a number of these tankers before coming up with what looked like the best of the lot--a bit dusty on top, but clean on the sides and relatively free of obvious dents and scratches. The topside dirt will come off easily (as evidenced by the bright spot on the left--a light rubbing with just the raindrops on my badge holder did that
I still don't know what I'll do with these Weaver trucks with Delrin wheelsets--these are 2-rail with the old-style pivoting (equalized) sideframes--but if you are looking for these, Neely's still has plenty. The trucks below them are Kusan examples that I found in the bottom of the box. A little soap+water and I'll add these to my stock of spares for my small collection of Kusan rolling stock..
By the way, if any 2-railers out there have Bowser/Weaver RoadRailers and are looking for 2-rail Couplermates to hitch them to their trains, this dealer has quite a few of them still in the plastic.

I like to call these tables 'museums', these are guys that like to carry them to meets just to show them off. Not really interested in selling.
I picked up a few things but worth mentioning was a ps2 railking 0-6-0 that the seller only used in conventional. Price was good even if it only ran conventionally. It wouldn't load into the remote at the orange hall test track but did run conventionally there so I was happy. I then met Marty Fitzhenry on my way out to my car and he told me to not try it again until I put a new battery in it. He even said how the harbor freight ones were no good and to get one from mth. Well, either he has x-ray vision or just really knows his stuff. When I got home and opened it there was a harbor freight battery dead as a doornail. With the new battery installed it loaded right up on my DCS system and works great! Thanks Marty!

The Voices have subsided and I've finally been able to take inventory of my York Meet purchases without any longterm damage. The haul was a bit lighter than usual due to a plethora of pre-orders that arrived just prior to the Meet. (Isn't that always the way?!) But we had lots of fun and got some good deals too.

While at York, I stopped to talk with Andre of River Leaf Models, and he had a beautiful ball signal, and I complimented him on the remarkable craftsmanship and the fine detail. Andre picked it up and handed it to me, and said, "take it." I finally got the opportunity to place it on the layout this afternoon, despite most of my plans for the day going south due to an unexpected break down of our washing machine. I still have to research how these signals were used, so if the positioning of the balls is incorrect for the movement of the locomotive in the photos, don't hold that against me! Thank you Andre.
