What GS4 pulled Milw Rd Heavyweights? Reference 6-25515 product

I think the catalog copy is wrong. I am quite well versed on the subject of Milwaukee Road Hiawathas and I never found any reference to the Southern Pacific.

Milwaukee road partnered with Union Pacific in its later days, but not with Southern Pacific to my knowledge.

Someone did not do their homework when writing the catalog, methinks.

When reading the whole paragraph, it is a little clearer that the text was referring to the SP Heavyweight Cars listed on the same page of the 2007 catalog.

“Decorated for service on the Milwaukee Road AND Southern Pacific mainlines, this signature varnish is prepared for service with the famous Bi-Polar AND GS-4 steam locomotive”.

Since the GS-4, Bi-Polar and the respective heavyweights, were all listed on the same page, it is pretty clear that the wording is referring to the SP cars for the SP engine (GS-4) and the Milwaukee Road cars for the Bi-Polar.

Without pictures, I can see where the wording may be a bit confusing.

Regardless, if you are looking for cars to pull with a GS-4, look elsewhere. If you are looking for the proper engine to pull with these Milwaukee Road cars, you can choose from the Bi-Polar or MR 261 Northern. There may be more, but that is a start.

Thanks everyone. That makes sense as I pulled this off the intranet and didn’t think that this was a cut and paste from the catalog.  As when you look up 6-25515 and click the Lionel link all you see is the Milw rd 4 pack and the SP cars do not show as they probably were in the catalog

Very sloppy editing. Somebody wasn't thinking. And while we're on the subject of Lionel and Milwaukee Road mistakes, I see that the 2020 Big Book shows a 21" Milwaukee Road dome car with a half-length dome. That's a model without a prototype; the only dome cars the Milwaukee owned were the Super Domes, with full-length domes. 

Ironically, the Milwaukee/SP connection might have been lifted from my own imaginary railroad, the Chicago, Milwaukee and Southwestern. As a Milwaukee fan living in SP country, I imagined a joint venture running the flagship "Southwest Hiawatha" from Chicago to Los Angeles over Milwaukee, KCS, Cotton Belt, and SP tracks.
