When I was a little kid.. maybe 5 or 6 years old ...my  older brother stored a box of trains in the shed in the basement. This was the same shed where my Grandfather stored the barrel of wine that had turned to vinegar.. long story short..the barrel leaked all over the box of trains soaking everything inside in Grampas finest wine vinegar.. that was the last time I saw something looked that bad.....

I'd say "boat anchor",  but it looks like somebody's already tried that.

However,  I could probably get it running.   I'd have to swap out the body shell,  chassis,  wheels,  motor...

Oh,  wait.

EDIT:  Tell ya one thing:  I could put a trolley pole on that puppy and not get one single complaint...

I'm tempted to buy this and give it to Dennis Holler, I hear he likes a challenge!

I was thinking the same thing!!!!!..I was getting ready to mention Dennis!....his heart goes pitter patter for gems like that!!!....Id bet He'd have it running before this post closed up about it!!….

I'm betting it's his bid

...and he gets it running

My prediction?  Amazing as it may seem,   I think this loco could potentially be brought back to life.   It'd never be a prizewinner, but the brushholders and inside of the motor look to be clean and I think all the zinc corrosion could be removed and the shell repainted.  It would look like it had the worlds's worst case of acne,  but it could be made to function.

'Course,  I may just be having a reaction to all the tool restoration videos I've been watching of late...
