I was noodling about with some Marx B&O diesels and postwar Lionel coaches, when it occurred to me that, if the CNJ's Blue Comet from New York to Atlantic City had made it to the postwar diesel era, it might well have looked something like this:

In case you were wondering, one of my blue coaches has a reversable truck with a knuckle coupler on one end and a tender coupler on the other so it can work with drawbar engines...

I've got some of the MPC and some Rail King Blue Comet cars.  I bought the MPC to pull behind a Lionel TMCC Wabash Hudson, then decided the train needed to be longer, hence the RK cars.  Not remotely prototypical but still blue.

I do have a pair of K-Line Wabash Alcos but the "Blue Bird" paint scheme is way too far off.
