It's a crappy wet day here in AZ with not much happening outside. So with time on my hands I decided to do a search online for custom PCB fabrication vendors, and got loads of hits. Quite a few are US based and of course lots of offshore as well, and several offer online quotes to fit your needs. Then I stumbled on a site called PCBShopper, which promises to get PCB quotes for your requirements from up to 24 vendors. Yahoo! I wound up with about 15 quotes, and not surprisingly the China based ones were generally cheaper. (The PCB in question is the recently shared Gerber file that gunrunnerjohn created for constant current thru hole top adjust led lighting boards. I originally ordered 12 boards from OSH Park @ $1.27 a copy, but wanted to get more, for hopefully less money.) I had a couple of prices in excess of $5 each (gasp!), several prices for less than 70 cents each, right down to 38 cents each; based on a quantity of 100 boards.

Then I happened on the site of ALLPCB (offshore) where I got quoted 19 cents each for 100, or 14.5 cents each for 200, not including shipping. Not bad at all. Their fab time was only 5 days, and shipping options include DHL 2 days or HKPost for less money, up to 30 days delivery. So I ordered a bunch of boards, and I guess time will tell how they turn out. They may turn out to be junk, who knows?

Has anyone in forum-world had good or bad success with a PCB vendor that you would like to share?
