My dear friend Jack Pearce, the master of lighting passenger cars and vehicles, will not be there. It will be the first York Meet that Jack will have missed in many, many years. This is not by his choice, of course. It is because of the ridiculous US border restrictions for Canadians.

We regret that we will not be attending the York show. It is the first miss for us going back to the 60's when it was held in the Guernsey Pavilion on Rt. 30 . Bill is highly involved in Lansdale's rain delayed "Founders Day" program for that weekend, culminating w/ a huge fireworks show across the street from our shop. We are short handed as is, let alone providing personnel for York. My son Harry III is just getting over his cancer battle, Walt is just recovering from Covid 19, and leaves only yours truly at 78. I put in 50-60 hours a week keeping the parts up, & shipping. I need my boys to do the York show, and it ain't happening this year!! I will miss all of our contacts attending, but I am sure we will attend in the spring. If any of you are in the area Saturday, stop by and watch the fireworks.

It doesn’t matter what dealers won’t be at York. I’ll just buy from those that are there and still have a great time!! Simple.
This actually might be pretty good, not so jammed. Gives you more time to browse closer through all the halls with less tables. I'm sure I will find something!

You and me both! I'm just not getting upset about less dealers. I will be out of the house, among friends, among trains, and having a good time. I already pledge to myself to make sure I spend some money on the vendors that do show up and making sure I pay closer attention to the member halls.
To the vendors not coming, I completely get it, and I'll see you in the spring hopefully. As of now 21 days and change! Woo Hoo!
I'll spend less money on closeouts - have too many unopened boxes of bargains from previous meets anyway. Looking forward to a less-rushed atmosphere. Hope it will be good for the remaining vendors.

Yep, I'll probably get more time to stroll through the member halls, sometimes there are some real bargains there. 
Who knows, this just might end up being a great York meet! Any York meet is a good one, hoping for something extra.

I promise not to talk your ear off John. Since you'll be moving around, it may be hard to find you to do that.
Regardless, any York is a great York in my opinion. I get to stroll around and admire all there is to see, and talk too much most of the time. Don't know how much will be in my spending block, but that is okay too as I don't really need much. Heck, maybe I'll bite on some old tinplate stuff that I always walk around admiring this time around.
Just talking for myself, I am kind of like some others, the loss of 'major players' doesn't bother me much. Really looking forward to going and sharing the experience with others and if I find some neat stuff, great! Looking forward to possibly running into some of the people from here (not literally).

Is a mask requirement a possibility? I didn't see that on the EDTCA website. I am guessing there won't be a mask requirement. Too bad as I really really really want to go but have decided against it. A requirement would get me thinking twice.
This will be my first York attendance ever, so at the very least I was wondering if Trainworld will be there? I'm sure I'll still have a great time, even if there are less vendors. I'm used to attending swap meets with no more than 15-20 vendors anyway.
I'm sure plenty of vendors will still show up. Also, don't discount the member halls, lots of good deals to be had there as well.

I think that this had been discussed on a prior thread. I believe it was at the time up to the discretion of the individual, but as others have stated before, things may change. I would suggest calling the EDTCA and see what they say. They will give you some kind of answer and may say exactly what I just said with a "stay tuned" attached. Regardless, see what comes.
