Is a mask requirement a possibility? I didn't see that on the EDTCA website. I am guessing there won't be a mask requirement. Too bad as I really really really want to go but have decided against it. A requirement would get me thinking twice.

You can certainly wear a mask if you like, and I'm sure a lot of folks will indeed be so equipped.

I think that this had been discussed on a prior thread. I believe it was at the time up to the discretion of the individual, but as others have stated before, things may change. I would suggest calling the EDTCA and see what they say. They will give you some kind of answer and may say exactly what I just said with a "stay tuned" attached. Regardless, see what comes.

No need to call.  It's posted on the ED TCA site.  No mask requirement as of now.

I'll just have to keep my eyes peeled then.

I have a feeling there will be many people looking at each other's chests for the name on your York badge or stitched on your shirt this year.  My wife said now we'll know how she feels when she goes out.    I know you'll have to look at my chest as I'll have a mask on.

FWIW, I did get email confirmation from both Charles Ro and Nicholas Smith that they will NOT be at this October York.

Our group will still be there and enjoy the meet.  There will be plenty of things to do and spend our money on.  An excellent chance to concentrate on the member halls for a lot of gems to purchase.  Just looking forward to the "immersion" of the York event.

Irish,

Ridiculous?  Can't keep politics out of anything, no matter how hard you try can you?

Get well soon Roger!

(By the way the Canadians are still ridiculously keeping most of us U.S. residents out too.)

Mike:

Chill out. My comment had nothing to do with politics, so your characterization of my comment is what's political. I could care less who made the rule. The rule is in fact ridiculous for fully vaccinated Canadians like Jack. BTW, your comment about Canada keeping most Americans out of Canada is also totally false. Have a nice day.

I can't predict the future, but Pennsylvania is similar to NJ with how Delta is hitting it so I suspect in the three weeks until York there won't be a mask mandate. If it follow the pattern around here in NJ, they may 'encourage' mask wearing. One note (and this is just for information and it is relevant to the discussion), recent things I have read coming from studies said that even if other are not wearing a mask/face covering it does reduce risk for the person wearing it. Giving this is also coming near cold and flu season, wearing a mask may not be a bad idea anyway

I have just ordered some scenery material from Scenic Express.  They have just moved to Colorado and they said they will NOT be at YORK.

I knew Jim had a home in Colorado, but did not realize he had permanently moved there. His store in PA has been closed. We will certainly miss him at the York Meet. My understanding is that he will be at the Amherst Train Show in January.

I've been told that I look better when wearing a mask...

Since Scenic Express is planning to be at Amherst in January, would it be correct to assume that they will return to York in the future?  (I sure hope so.)

I was hoping that wouldn't be the case but figured it might.  I'll be at the scenery stage of my layout by York and was planning on buying a bunch of stuff from him.    Moving anywhere is an undertaking let alone across the country.

The Orange Hall, in particular, is shaping up to be a very interesting place this time around. One hunch I have though:

There will be a good many TCA members coming to this October York event because they have been cooped up and away from friends and the "train scene" for going on two years or more. Those manufacturers/suppliers/dealers who DO show up will likely do especially well at this meet because there will be hobbyists there with money to spend. Most folks will not want to leave York with their wallets still full, even if everything they might have been looking/hoping for can't be found.

I had the same feeling, it'll be a good York for some vendors, and it's always a good York for me.

Hi Folks,

I have been waiting since August 1st for a mover to show up moving me from Buckeye, AZ to Buffalo NY.  I JUST got word they will come and pack me up October 14th.  It this holds true, I will head for Buffalo pulling my 15' cargo trailer, with a 4 day 2400 mile drive to look forward to, probably leaving by the 16th.  So time will be tight for my drive to York and finding a Hotel room.  Regardless, I will hopefully be attending my first York since I moved to Buckeye about 14 years ago.  Look forward to meeting old friends, once again.  Oh, I am not pre-registered, so I will have to register at the meet.

It is nice to see folks like Gunrunner john posting positive posts about the event.  Maybe I'll bump into Allan M, and we can once again compare how our hearts are doing :-)

I'm up to 9 stents now, but still am VERY thankful for every new sunrise I get to witness!

Don't know what I might be looking for, but it won't be $141.00 cabooses! :-)

So if I make it, just say Hi if you see me!
