How close can I put the two tracks and still have clearance on the sides of my engines?

teacher.  the easy way is to put tracks side by side,  with cars on,  I would say an inch clearance,,, curves,  look at over hang,   1-1/2,  would give  good clearance,

I measured 17" foot to foot on the inside and 20" on the outside edge.

darnnit! Too wide, Tom and I may need to talk kit bashing ...

thanks MM, very helpful - I always like to see a visual. Showed this to Tom, and said we'd need to cut it to be less wide, and he said "Put it on a corner!" Perhaps that can work!

Thanks for the info. So far, it is working out to be better than I was expecting. The area of space for the two track on the long sides of the table is 9" wide, on the the short sides its 11" wide.

Right now, on the 9" wide side, I've got 2-5/8" in the middle inside tie to inside tie. Maybe 2-3/8" on the 11" ends/sides. Did cuts to track and have the outer loop set. Expecting my USATrack order to arrive tomorrow 7/5, so I can then get the inner loop track cuts completed. Plenty of room of course at the corners. Enough space to set the PL passenger shed in front of the station and terrace. I like it there just fine and dandy.

The track order from USATrack arrived today Now progress on the inner loop can continue...

Too much going on last night by the time Tom got home to work on the track. Hopefully tonight. I put a couple of straights in place for the long sides yesterday afternoon.

Carrie I'm surprised I missed that Terrace on evil day however I'm glad you were able to get it what a nice addition
