After listening to lots of input recently about the upper circle I had in mind, doing much looking at my layout with all I have there already, and with much rethinking about it...

I've decided against adding an upper circle. I'm now looking add a second mainline loop next to the existing one. I need to find out much clearance is necessary to lay the two tracks side by side on the table- if I want to use a 440N Signal Bridge.

I just scored BIG TIME on EvilBay auctions on two items; the MTH repro 116 double station, AND the T-reproductions 129B terrace. *happytraindance* With these new additions, no upper circle can be done well.

Looking to the film The Train as inspiration (okay, so I'm now hooked on this terrific film, and Tom couldn't be more delighted!) , I'm looking to eventually add a MTH/Lionel No. 438 Signal Tower, and a Lionel 440N double Signal Bridge and its companion 440C Switch Board.

Asking out there in OGRRForum-land, How wide is the 440N (foot to foot edge) please?

teacher.  the easy way is to put tracks side by side,  with cars on,  I would say an inch clearance,,, curves,  look at over hang,   1-1/2,  would give  good clearance,

Thanks for the info. So far, it is working out to be better than I was expecting. The area of space for the two track on the long sides of the table is 9" wide, on the the short sides its 11" wide.

Right now, on the 9" wide side, I've got 2-5/8" in the middle inside tie to inside tie. Maybe 2-3/8" on the 11" ends/sides. Did cuts to track and have the outer loop set. Expecting my USATrack order to arrive tomorrow 7/5, so I can then get the inner loop track cuts completed. Plenty of room of course at the corners. Enough space to set the PL passenger shed in front of the station and terrace. I like it there just fine and dandy.
