Sorry if this is a stupid question but would these buttons work for block power?

Rated  5 Amps @ 125/250 Vac

12V LIGHTED PUSHBUTTON, 2

Just in general will 5 amp rated buttons work or do they need to be higher?

Looking at this really helpful article on circuit protection it looked like passenger trains might draw up to 9amps.

We have a pretty small 12x12 layout with 7 blocks and each block would probably only have one train on it at a time but perhaps could have two for a short duration if we lost track of them.  Ten cars would be a huge train for us.  It seems most of the lighted buttons I've come across have even lower amp ratings.

Thanks guys.  It is amazing what you can overlook after a few hours of looking at buttons.  I total didn't see that it was momentary in the middle of the night.

I am really just looking for a big lighted button that is very kid friendly so if anyone comes across something like that in around 10amp On/Off style then please let me know.

I'd like to go with straight power through switches, without using relays or anything fancy at first, just so my son really gets the idea of where the power is being routed.  I may just go with more standard switches and then move to lighted buttons and relays at some point.  But I think a lot of 11 yo boys will probably be working these switches so I'm still hoping to find something big and obvious as to when it's on and when it's off.

Thanks again.
