What type of plastic sheeting do you use for clear windows in a building? What type for semi-opaque windows?

Evergreen Styrene has clear plastic in .010, .015, .030. Thicker plastic is available at your home improvement stores. I've even used translucent cutting mats. It all depends on what you need it to do.
Craft stores have a frosted semi-rigid translucent mylar in 12 x 4 sheets that is used for cutting stencils and works well for frosted windows or making a diffuser around interior lights.
also big box stores paint dept sell a spray can of window frosting and dull coat or krylon matte spray will also frost clear windows.
This frosted plastic is on the bay......

Mike, You can use pretty much anything that's clear. I've used transparency sheets, acetate, clear plastic packaging and my favorite: lexan polycarbonate. I like lexan best for projects where i can just use one large sheet across a whole wall. First, it's a real time saver, but more importantly second, it's very rigid and it adds strength and weight to your structure. I never saw the need to buy frosted stuff. You can hit one side of any of the items i mentioned above with some ultra fine sand paper and create the same effect all by yourself. Good luck!

overlandflyer, Good idea with the vellum. That would've never occured to me. I've been using masking tape for shades, but the vellum idea sound much more appealing. Thanks!
