Go to Menard's if you are looking for the Woodland Scenics buildings. They were discounted $40.00 here at the local Menard's. Check it out if you are in to it.

I wish I had that Luxury! IF it Ain't on da Web, The Deal's Dead!
I went to menards yesterday. I bought the cycle shop for 59.00 including tax in Massillon Ohio. The cycle shop was discounted as a seasonal item. Then on top of that I had a 20 percent off Menards grocery bag. If you could fit it in the bag you got 20 percent off. I had told myself all year I didnt want the Menard versions of these buildings because they are not lighted or have the printed interiors. BUT for 59.00 out the door,c'mon.............had to do it.
Great price on a great building. You can certainly add lighting for what you saved! I felt good getting mine (A WS with lighting) for 10% off. You got a fantastic bargain.
Yesterday Sat they had two, today Sunday, gone.
Oh well saved $70. But next year I plan to be at Menards Nov 1st when they open the Christmas section with my credit card at the ready and sharp elbows to grab Lemax ferris wheel and carousel if available, any woodland scenics and d*** the costs!!
Just this evening I went to a Menards store in nearby Gurnee, IL. I was able to buy their last J.M. Cobbler building for $55.99 using the 20% off bag sale. Other than that, they had only one remaining Woodland Scenics building still on the shelf-- a Bob's Billiards.
Picked up Bob's Billards today for $56, considered picking up the cycle shop but decided my small layout didn't have room for another building.
Menard's does not have a store in my area. I have been able to mail order all of this year's models and two of last year's at regular sale prices, $69.99. I still lack the Menard's old time hardware store. Does anyone know of a store that might still have this model?
Thanks, Pat B.
Here is the store locator on their web site: http://www.menards.com/main/storeLocator.html
Since Menards is supporting our hobby I will do all my hardware shopping with them. I have gone their a lot anyway, but now it will be all the time. Even though they are Packer fans.
The Menards by my house will not open for a few more months.
I will be driving right though Lansing on Friday and will stop to see what they have left.
I got lucky yesterday by calling the store in Jackson MI, hoping I could find inventory there but they were all gone except for the bike shop. The store clerk went out of her way to find all three ( she found them in the North Toledo store) of the new buildings for me and was able to get them and have them shipped to me in PA. I was originally hoping to just find a place that had them in stock and was going to send my sister out to pick them up since she lives close by to the MI store. The pricing with FedEx shipping and tax came out to 88.00 per building.
The Oshkosh WI store had many of each building in stock 12/31/12.
I really prefer building kits and adding my own details.
Kunde,
Thats wonderful if you have an artistic eye and a treasure trove of pieces to add to buildings and can paint and weather then to perfection. Unfortunately most of us including me can't do this without the results looking like s***.
On a different note, too bad Menards doesn't take note of the Woodland Scenic and Lemax villages and keep a small area open all year and/or order stuff for customers. Guess just have to wait each year. But this Nov 1 I will be at their front door ready to grab $200-300 worth of stuff at full price, so I have it and won't miss out.

Today I went to Menards to get some hardware and on a lark walked down the toy asile, and there it was, the Woodland Scenic corner store!! Just like Christmas Vacation when Clark Griswold found THE TREE, there was a cone of light and the Mormon Choir singing Halleujah chorus as I stood gazing at the store . Then like Clark who forgot to bring a saw to cut tree, I forgotten to bring my 20% discount bag. But the store manager set store and the hardware aside so I could run home and get the bag. So now I have the corner store that I judiciously blacked out the Menards name. Where I positioned store that window isn't readily visible.
I am a happy camper!!
