I have run across a very strange issue with one of the two ZW-C on our club layout. We had one go out after many years of using it and was able to get another new in the box from another club member. I hooked it up and the the A and D handles will not work unless I unplug the Legacy/TMCC unit. The B and C worked fine. I took it and placed it on my personal layout and it worked fine with or with Legacy turned on. So back to the club layout I went. We have 4 different loops using Two ZW-C's. Each Handle operates it own loop and the Legacy /Tmcc is on all the time but some people run conventional so they just turn up the handle for that but the new one will not work unless the Legacy/Tmcc is unplugged from power.I checked the chip in both units and they are the same the new one. I am sure the problem is very simple but I am stumped for now any help or thoughts would be great.

Thank you for the response and I been on the phone this morning with some club members and we have come up with your idea to try. Also we learned that you can set the handles A and D to work manual so they run the voltage up with handles all the time. Also we have a TMCC and Legacy connection already with a cable together so we do not use the internal TMCC in the ZW-C anyway. it is just redundant. We are going to try the ID #0 tomorrow and see if that fixes the issue with the new one. We know that the old one worked for the last 5 years so it must the settings on the new. The other one is working just fine. Thanks again Moonman.

I am not sure what you mean. Do you have a Legacy base and a TMCC base?

Connection here: http://www.lionel.com/Customer....cfm?documentID=6227

ZW-C here: http://www.lionel.com/Customer....cfm?documentID=6398

If some members want to run with the handles conventionally, they should remove the power from the Legacy base before powering on the ZW-C.

Otherwise, they could run variable voltage with the big red button.

I may be preachin' to choir here.

Let me know how you resolve the issue.

Sorry for the confusion on the TMCC stuff. We have TMCC and Legacy controllers connected like Mike has in video 1. What I meant to say is that we do not want to have select TR 1 or TR 4 and roll up the voltage on the ZW-C so you can set the ID number on the ZW-C to 0 and then the handles will always come up to 18 volts when raised. I hope this helps to understand what we are trying to do.

Sorry, wmwalker. I assumed that you had it connected properly, but you know what a s s u m e means.

I guess your members like the handles. I like the remote conventional control.

It is strange that it works on your layout and not the clubs.

So, if I followed a conventional operator at your club with a TMCC or Legacy train, then I would have to push the handle to full manually and the I could use the cab-1 or cab-2, correct?

Have you discovered the solution yet?
