Tower of highway horsepower: The Vehicle Showroom from Menards®

A fantastic new automotive emporium has come to Menardsville - a sight that will bring in folks from surrounding rail towns just to view this citadel of the auto trade.

Show your die-cast vehicles with pride
Designed for displaying 1/43 and 1/48 scale vehicles, the octagonal skyscraper is seven levels tall (24 inches) and has a striking see-through exterior.

The interior structure reveals an intricate network of gray girders supporting the auto display shelves. The unparalleled visibility permits an unobstructed view of vehicles you can place at 27 different display points.

The display shelves are approximately 5 inches wide. You’ll also find display space to pose vehicles in the showroom lobby.

Vehicle placement is easy. The roof has a removable hatch that is secured by four small magnets. Lift the tag and the lid comes right up. Just reach in and place your vehicle by type, color, brand, or any way you’d like.

Don’t have a train layout? That’s okay. The showroom is still a great way to display your prized 1/43 and 1/48 scale vehicles!

Wheel and deal
As with any automotive dealership, the ground floor lobby is central to making the deal! The entry is decorated with two potted plants. The showroom is decked out with red carpeting.

Six people seem engaged in talking about vehicle options and financing. Four tables and eight chairs are situated along the lobby sides, and at the rear is a customer service counter displaying two small computer terminals.

Jack is at rest by the entrance, no doubt awaiting his owner and looking forward to riding home in a sweet new ride!

Light it up
At this point you’re thinking a 2-foot-tall building with seven levels and 24 storage platforms … it must be huge! Wrong, the showroom has a compact 10-by-10-inch footprint.

So, you have a tall, one-of-a-kind structure that will catch the eyes of anyone at your layout. What more can you ask for? How about three lighting modes-standard white light, green lighting, or blue lighting.

The showroom lighting requires power through a Menards® 4.5-volt power supply. You can use the 279-4061/4361, 4060/4362, or 4050. You can connect it through a single plug over the tabletop or from beneath the shop from a drop-down pigtail plug.

Plug it in and the default is white light. Press a button on the base, and it will rotate to blue, press again and green illuminates. The building stands out in normal room lighting, but in dim light, the color is simply stunning.

This is a cool sturcture.  I see lost of potential to use it for other types of buildings but not as a showroom...I'ss strech teality a little bit, but how would those cars get in there

It's absolutely realistic/ prototypical.

Google " Carvana". Which is what the showroom is modeled after.

It's really not a showroom at all. More of a car vending machine. You purchase the car online and have the option for them to deliver it to your front door.

I believe all of the vehicles are used.

As far as getting the vehicles out. There is an elevator.

This is pretty awesome.  RickO is right, Carvana only sells used cars.  They usually have very nice used cars and they charge a premium for them.  It does work like a vending machine, and if you buy a car from them they give you a token to put into the machine and you turn a handle, just like you're getting something out of the vending machines at the grocery store or wherever.
