200 trolley (lionel classics) 6-13900

Could you post a picture of the item in question showing its relation to the motor.

Larry, the last time I tried this it was a disaster.  Looking at the headlight, the black square thing is attached to the left on the e unit.

 I can't find any information on that trolley. I'm presuming the 'E' unit is electronic. My best guess is it may be a bridge rectifier. Perhaps a call to the manufacturer can solve your mystery.

Larry, the e unit is not electronic.  I have no idea why this should be converted to DC.  I'll submit my question to MTH  and see what they say.
