FOR TODAY: " All done!" It's 3:30 p.m. and the last truck loaded with the fruit of this boxcar has just driven off ... As Wilford stands at the door and Stanley drags a pallet off out of the way, these guys are ready to knock off and head to the local watering hole. Their task this afternoon was to transload this car loaded with building material which was mostly roofing supplies.

Patrick, those two must have made an early start of it if they're done moving that many shingles by 3:30.
P51 / Lee - looked back quite a few pages to confirm the coal hoppers were the ones you were working on in April. As i recall this is the first time we have seen them in operation on the ET&WNC railroad. They fit right in like they have always been there. Beautiful work. I think you should get a gold medal for this. New Olympic sport - model train - I suppose it should be a winter sport.
Trumptrain / Patrick - as always - thanks for the photos and underlying story.

FOR TODAY: "The final rays of this day's sun." Buford, Tater, and Biff all MOW workers have had a loooong day. They began work at 7 a.m. this morning and now that the sun is shedding it's final rays, the guys take a few moments to take in the magnificent view of the setting sun. Gritty, grimy, weary, and tired; true railroaders to the core, these guys take great pride in keeping the trains rolling. All are appreciative of the overtime hours today and are looking forward to their day off tomorrow...... AND that's how it was back in the day.

Paul , I love the photos from Bozemen, Mt. I didnt get a chance to see alot of train stuff, but was shocked to see a group of BNSF engines with a Norfolk Southern right in the center of them. I like the T-bird, but I still like the Yellow GM more!
Mark, I am sure Chuckys bike was similar to both yours and pauls, but he is very talented as he can ride all around the train yard with not handle bars!

FOR TODAY: " Working on the railroad ... the MOW camp." It's early in the morning and the crew is gathering materials for a hard days work maintaining the rails and right of way. About an hour from now this crew will be working at lengthening the passing siding up on Badger's Summit. This job should take about 5 days. It's hot as blazes and there was no AC in the bunk cars last night. Last night's super in the diner was burgers, baked beans, and cabbage. Needless to say the bunk cars were rather fragrant this morning.

Mike. Finally measured the guard post on roadway. They are 2 and one half inches apart. Probably a little close but it's beside a dangerous area. Thanks for the comments . Farmerjohn.

🎖 During the 'Big One', The French Resistance, was instrumental in suppling sensitive information on the enemies whereabouts and activities..
A US Army Recon team consisting of a Captain, a Lieutenant, and a Sergeant, from Military Intelligence Headquarters, secretly meet the Woman of the resistance in a forest at dusk just out side of Metz, not far from the German border. The women are fascinated seeing for the first time a US Army Jeep. The Captain accommodates their request to sit inside'.... The Cpt, compares notes with Sherrie's map and his own map. The LT has a wandering eye for the beautiful blond resistance fighter, Lorraine...
As the meeting becomes more relaxed, the 'resistance mademoiselles make them selves comfortable by adorning the jeep exterior.
The Sgt. gathers more intelligence from the leader of the group, Madame Simone Segouin. 15 to 20 percent of the resistance are women, and Simone is responsible for many teams located on the French, German border.
The Lieutenant ponders if he should pursue further advances with the very receptive French beauty, or just continue with his mission... A tough decision to make for the young Lieutenant'...
Stay tuned for the next adventure'...

Yes Pat they are Model U'... I must say the facial details are not up to par compared to the many other Model U figures I have painted. I will be showing the band on my next installment on the resistance post.
The instruments broke off when painting,,? I'm going to write Allen. It appears he changed the material the figures are made off.....The dark gray ones had complete features, and were extremely durable'...???
Excellent scenes and story, Ted. I never heard of Model U before. You did a great job painting and posing them.
I will do that Ted. When I create a scene on my layout, there is usually a story or some experience I have had that inspires the scene. I need to take pictures of some of my people scenes and put them on here.
Like this one from the movie Ford Versus Ferrari.

Thanks Mark'.. Model U is a real scanned human beings made into scale figures. They located in Great Brittan. Nice outfit, lots of figures and detail parts'...

I received my Model U brass band as well. I was also disappointed with the facial details and yes very fragile. I'm interested in seeing your brass band when the time comes.

FOR TODAY: " The logging camp." Loggers Buster Barnum sizes up a tree as Patch Langford moves in with his axe. These two fellas are nicknamed " The Beaver Brothers " by fellow loggers. It's been said that, as a team The Beaver Brothers can take down an entire grove of trees by lunch time.

FOR TODAY: Under a full moon, MOW men Ebb Watson and Silas Gosnell reminisce about their early days working for the railroad. These fellas have been chewing the fat since just after supper when the sun was still up. Heck it's now after 11 pm. They better get to the bunk car soon to catch some zeez, because 5 a.m. is going to come around real fast.
