If an AC engine has a front headlight (or you are hauling an AC caboose with a light inside the cab), will these lights come on when you run the AC engine on the DC track?

Yes they will.
Although some of the operating cars will not work on DC. The revolving searchlight car with the vibrator motor comes to mind. The cop chasing hobo animated gondola is another one.
On my layout, which is small, I have an elevated track at the back of the layout which is AC powered. I have a bunch of animated cars that operate while being stationary, like the two I just mentioned. A lot of the animated accessories have large footprints, which a small layout won't allow for. So I made up for that reality.
