I'm I correct in saying that these functions work only when the BOOST/BRAKE buttons are used?

Bob,
They also determine how quickly the engine accelerates and decelerates when speed is changed.
Barry,
It must be so small a change that it's undetectable by the human eye (or at least my old eyes).
I've changed it from 1 to 25 and can't see a change.
How can we determine if it's working?
Hope this isn't too far off topic... Does anyone use the brake to slow down their train? I think the braking part is very realistic. It's like having a heavy train taking forever to slow down. I believe we have the option of after slowing down with the brake , the train remains at that speed. (under the control menu) .The part I don't like is the train returning to it's former speed. It should take almost as long to get back up to speed but it doesn't. It returns away to fast.
I've never tried changing the acc dec rates. You may want higher rates for a yard switch engine with no cars. There's a lot going on with dcs that sometimes never gets used.
Bob,
How can we determine if it's working?
I see it when I press DIR.
Heh, I have requested they extend the times even more.
Like add 0.75, 0.5, and 0.25 settings.
Really big trains on Steam power were very slow to change speed.
Thanks Barry
