i recently saw that energizer batteries has started putting out nearly all size batteries in rechargeable form...has any one used them in a mth or lionel engine? they are nmhy....the 9volt...

Are these "9v" batteries 6-cell (like most "9v") or the 7-cell (8.4v) batteries needed for the MTH application?
pkg doesn't say...just says 9V1
Given that the street price is greater than readily available 7 cell NiMh batteries, I'd just buy something that you know will work.
FIY, they are 8.4v nominal voltage with 7 cells.

Look at the fine print on the battery itself, it will say either 7V or 8.4V. For PS1 it needs to be 8.4V version. I use an energizer NiMh rechargeable in my PS1 and it works fine for me. If you let it sit unused for 6 months or so, its best to recharge it before use.
look at the upper right hand corner of the label for actual voltage
I have used them before, they work fine. G
yes thats it.....great thanks
The only other question is the overall outside physical size. I have run into some batteries that were more than a tight fit. So best to buy one and try it first.
fits great
