I really love the use of the mirror for the ice lake effect. Do you plan on putting a very light coat clear matte or glaze finish to simulate the a light dusting of snow?  This is going to be great. By the way on the news they were talking about a massive pile up on one of the highways in your area. I hope things are well with all the snow you have been getting..

ALL points of the compass in the movie are labeled South.

Thanks for the heads up. I never considered this, but you are all correct that pointed this out. Fortunately this is an easy fix as the compass headings are all at the tip of the stars. I will be picking up three S for South tomorrow.

And yes, this is the time to get it right before all of the elves arrive.

Wow, I totally missed the all points South thing as well

Also take note of the way each S is turned.  Keep up the great work.

Some of you were kind enough to point out that the Compass Star in the PE Movie has all points going to the SOUTH. With all of the pictures I looked at, I never noticed this and installed the basic Compass Star with conventional points. So we based on your keen observations, we made immediate corrective actions. Here are the before and after photos.

Thanks to all of you who pointed this out.

This weekend I worked on lighting the arched causeway that goes around the entire layout (except through the mountain at one end). I used about 160 feet of lighting for both sides of the causeway. The photo below accentuates the actual lighting effect that is actually very subdued, but with low lights, this is what you get as an image. A very special thank you goes to Marty Fitzhenry who turned me on to this lighting system, who did the research for what I needed, and was instrumental in making this happen. If you don't already know it, Marty is the BEST.

While I was working away on this project, Elizabeth was constructing the road system for Elfland.
