Until the last two few posts, I did not realize just how much the fares were! OMG! I guess a cab ride would be five figures! Come to think of it, I have wasted more than $3000 on much more frivolous pursuits! If ya got it, flaunt it! LOL!
I had a chance to ride in a fully restored B25 this week for $450. I didn't get back from Seattle in time though. As for the Big Boy I had considered going, but it would be a four day deal for me, and the crowds would be horrendous. I'll sit and wait for it to come to Omaha and can then take a more leisurely approach. What I really want to photo are the repro engines at Promontory when they do a re-enactment. I have an 1860s vintage camera & lenses and am learning how to shoot wet plate. That would be a hoot to do there! Hope to get East sometime and photo the Lincoln 4-4-0 and the funeral car.

Your vintage camera is such a brilliant idea! Please share those photos on the forum!

Great, just what I wanted to know.
I was going to say the BB runs on May the 4th. My grandparents live in Laramie so my brother and I are going to catch her that day.
