I just reserved a Boston & Main LCCA set.  The set consists of a powered Lion Chief Plus GP 7, a dummy GP 7 and a caboose, all decorated in the Minute Man colors. I reserved mine for a deposit of $200 with a balance of $324.95 due when the set is ready for delivery (hopefully early in 2015).  There is an option to pay for it in full, but I didn't want to tie up the total amount right now.  I have been waiting for this set since it was announced the LCCA would have it built.  It is really great looking, and with the Lion Chief Plus system, it promises to be a good runner.  You have to be an LCCA member to order or purchase this set.

As I stated in the post above I don't believe you can order the one engine only. You could try asking in the LCCA forum maybe Al K can clear it up.

It's a very nice looking loco. I don't care for the caboose as it's a fantasy. The LCCA USED to require that convention cars and locomotives that were at least prototypical for the region. They did a good job in the late 70's and 80's. The Monsanto tankcar,Virginia Chemical tankcar,Corning Hopper,AIRCO tankcar in a boxcar,Ashland Chemical tankcar,NASA tankcar and the colorful East Camden boxcar are among my favorites as they were based on real cars for the convention area. Back in the day Al Otten,Chuck Seddon and Art Broshears were very adamant about this and wanted photographic proof.

I agree, it seems like an odd duck, to be offered alone.  I think there would be many buyers of the powered loco only.

I would have joined the LCCA if I could have purchased only the powered GP-7.  I think they would have sold very well.  It would be my first choice of any of the Lionchief Plus diesels made thus far.  What a bummer!  At this point I buy no locomotives that aren't New England railroads, also CN and CP which were common in up here in the past.
