Building a Narrow Gauge Rail Truck in 2018

There is a program on cable tv's MAVTV called Full Custom Garage, car builder Ian Roussel goes out to Orange Empire RR Museum's Grizzly Flats Narrow Gauge and builds a Model AA Rail Truck from salvage found at the museum's boneyard  with only a photograph to go by. Program also includes a short behind the scene tour. Program is on tonight at 7 and 10 PM Eastern. Will repeat in future

The OERM shop crew rebuilt the original A 4 cylinder engine, alas,  turned out to have a bad head gasket at the reveal. Except for a new front wheel set, all parts used were salvaged from OERM's bone yard.  The program will probably added to Full Custom Garage's Youtube channel. For those interested in custom cars or hot rods, check out some of the builds on Youtube.

Well, a Model A engine needs the head gasket to be torqued once while assembling, then again after the engine has warmed up, and some believe again after it cools down. If you don't do the first two, you are quite likely to get a leaking head gasket!

S'incerely,
