I'm just gonna ride it till the wheels fall off.
arghh, just bought a prewar AF on the bay, Green Diamond streamliner, supposedly running.
$250 with shipping. Which seems like a lot to this old guy til I see people spending much
more than that on polar express sets? or some lion chief engine.
To each his own, have fun.
Hmmmm, Is this the first or second step?
Today: An MTH Premier Heavy Pacific in U.S. Army Transportation Corps livery. The new King (or Queen) of my U.S. Army steam locomotive roster, by far. Hoping MTH will also eventually offer an 0-6-0 or 0-8-0 in that roadname, although I might attempt to re-letter the tender of one of my Alaska RR Premier models.
I already have a good number of U.S. Army diesel power, with more on the way, covering early diesel power to contemporary examples.
I want to be able to alter the eras on my new layout (has an Army logistics installation theme) to a certain extent by changing out the locomotives and rolling stock and not so much the structures or scenery.
Okay, got my Williams brass Crown Edition (what does Crown Edition mean?) PRR T1 duplex 4-4-4-4 #5505 today. She's a beaut. With tender it has to be about 30"+ long. On the bottom a plate says 1 of 500 (or 1 of 600). Does that mean it's the first or just that its one out of about 500 (600) that were produced? Also got some second hand weathered Ross track, enough for one 72" loop, two 64" loops, 20'+ straight, uncouplers, bumpers and 5 switches with Z1000 (maybe 30% from new price). Began framing a second 4'x8' table.
Took my 5 year old to the "comic book/toy store" and he picked out a Transformer toy (you know, the robot that transforms into vehicles in movies and cartoons). So I got him the Titans Return, Voyager Class "Sentinal Prime". Best thing is what it transforms into.
From this...
to this... a space shuttle and a TRAIN! Too cool and a neat way to link the toys he has to trains. Whatever it takes right?
I think the Transformer train qualifies as a 2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2.
I picked this up from a forum member last week or so...living in Savannah, it was a must have for me! Love the Tuxedo paint scheme and I can go see the life sized prototype not far away.
Ron H,
Great Framed GG1 Picture! I love It.
Incredible Deal also.

Hit the mother lode today. Orders from Eastern Depot, Imperial Trains, and eBay all showed up today (4 rolling stock, 1 building). So did my O scale people (son noticed that there was no one on the layout and wanted to know why). Should hopefully have pictures tonight!
Here are the new cars.
Nalco 8000 gallon (MTH Premier)
ACFC Funnel Flow (MTH Premier)
Conrail Extended Bay (MTH Premier)
Here is a video of the Conrail Chemical Car Consist in action (before I possibly need to ship the E33 in for repairs). :/
Had to make a run to Sam's Club and while there I picked up two more of the LED shop lights. They had a sale going on. 7.00 dollars off a light. Pic..............Paul
Paul2,
Thanks for the info, have been waiting for them to go on sale, time to pick up a couple more myself, for the wife's laundry room.

Nice, another Georgian! I too love the S&A paint scheme. I'm up in Atlanta - I picked up this MTH SD70ACe (despite the not-quite-right lettering and color) and had it on display at my wedding this past June (the wife is from Virginia):
