@coach joe posted:Paul that's the east side of the Hudson, correct? It's two tracks now but wasn't 4 in the NYCs prime?
Joe;
Yes, the Water Level Route (aka the Hudson Division) ran up the east side of the Hudson. Your second question is a bit harder (and hopefully one of the NYC experts hereabouts will chime in). According to a map included in the book from the 1930’s, some stretches had 2, 3, or 4 or more tracks. And I’m sure that the number of tracks changed over time, so I think you’d need to know where and when to answer your question
Thanks to everyone who recommended this Williams 44-ton scale locomotive to me. Got it on sale from Trainworld for $149.
Less than I paid for a NIB Beep!
It just arrived. Looks so good, that I'm afraid to take it out of the box! Mannyrock

Lol...I was trying to figure out how to pile it all up in an aesthetically pleasing manner to take a picture of it yest. evening. I may have to set-up another "temporary" folding table. So, in short, I'm still working on it.

Manny- I have the PRR version. I will caution you that the hand rails are very fragile. I always handle mine from the cab. They are very nice BTW. 👍👍
Thanks for the warning RSJB.
You may remember that I'm the one who broke the tiny fence in three places while just unboxing my Atlas Oil Pump. :-)

The 44 ton is hard to beat at that price! Good deal Mannyrock!

I bought the same one from Trainworld. It is really cool. Congrats Manny.

Mannyrock,
I liked their video so much, I just ordered the Canadian National version. 👍🏻
My R1 A train set

Love those cars, Corey. They were the subways of my long gone youth. It looks like they even included the door controllers on the ends of the car - you couldn’t be a short conductor when your legs had to span between two cars. Definitely not a fun job when it was raining or snowing!!! Some of the last ones I remember ran on the J line - I would be waiting on Broad Street for the M train to Brooklyn (it ran over the Brighton line in those days) when a J would pull in to it’s last stop before heading back to Queens. At least half the time, there was smoke coming from the train!!!
And why build a subway layout when you can run the trains under the furniture... ahh memories of Brooklyn apartment living

Thanks Corey . Good looking R1-A set. 🤓
Nice video going from opening and all the way to running .
It's been quite awhile since I've been able to open up a new aquisition. Your video brings a smile to me. 😁

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed.
Finally got it - something :
The box!
Hmmm; wonder what's in that box? I haven't ordered any buildings.
Okay, time to take the contents out:
Okay; looks like 8 boxes of rolling stock.
Hmmmm; still trying to remember what 8 pieces of rolling stock I bought as a whole.
Let's find out:
Wow! 8 boxcars! So what are they?
I remember, BNSF 25th Anniversary of their last merger.
Here are all 8:
Closer look at them all:
(not sure why they are curved - especially on the top) (need to check my camera's settings)
Now if I add these to this set:
You get this long train:
A couple movies of the train:
Please excuse the video as I recently moved and haven't got my new-to-me train room organized and permanent layout built.
Bought or delivered??
I bought 4 Atlas 40 foot reefers from @MrMuffin'sTrains last year that finally arrived. These are beautiful, as expected.
I bought the BNSF 25 year merger anniversary engine from @MrMuffin'sTrains. For some unknown reason I got one of the last versions / road numbers to be delivered. It's fine as we head into train season.
I bought the UP Our people engine #1111 MTH DCS Premier engine, also from @MrMuffin'sTrains. Gorgeous, engine.
John
Bought a couple of ERR boards for future projects from a forum member. I plan on converting a Lionel F3 and BEEP to command.
Good times! 👍😁
@paulp575 that's a sharp looking set of box cars. Enjoy!
