And this AF wide gauge electric with bell ringer. I intend on restoring this one.

Have wanted one of these for a long time. 165 Magnetic Crane.

The french participation to this wonderfull subject, a french Hornby set from around 1930-32. It is a very simple clocwork model without reversing system on the engine but all the charm of litho tinplate on the passenger cars.

I picked up this battered Ives 3251 at a meet a few weeks before Christmas.





Pretty rough even for her age at 80+. I purchased a repro bell to replace the missing one, but I'm thinking I may break down and cosmetically restore her (a decision I don't make lightly). One thing strange is she's missing the door on the opposite side...not sure if that punches out or if someone cut it out. I haven't had a chance to diassemble and service, but she runs great after being hosed down with tuner-cleaner. Looking forward to acquiring a few cars to drag around.

Great idea for a new 2012 thread RJ! There are some beautiful and interesting trains under the tree this year! Santa brought me a Märklin RS 13031 No. 1. gauge electric from about 1930. Märklin workers handpainted this locomotive in 1 gauge, while the 0 gauge version of the same loco design was lithographed. To me there is someting very personal and special about holding in my hand a tinplate toy train that was hand painted by someone 80 years ago in Germany. I'm doing some needed repairs and servicing but I hope to have this beauty running real soon.

Here's a 259E I bought to run around the Christmas tree this year. I had been looking for a late version, and found this one at a meet in Porters PA. Runs great...love those green running lights...

Not quite new to me, but finally got my treasures from the Nov Cal-Stewart meet cleaned and ready to roll. Took them to the GTE this past weekend to run on the Tin Plate Trackers layout. I cheated on the Comet, it temporarily has a Marx DR one way motor for power until the original motor is repaired.

My newest tinplate train. A 1937 Flying Yankee. I bought this set last March.

If I keep buying diesels, this Marx water tower won't have much work left.

Luckily, my railroad is still buying new steam. This is a Lionel 0-8-0, heading up the Wegmans train on the inner loop.
