A while back, Steve Eastman posted pictures of some very cool Standard Gauge tinplate beer cars he made from some extra McCoy cars.

 

About the same time, I came across this picture of a McCoy prototype for a Colorado Midlands car, with art by Bob McCoy Sr., a car that was never produced:

Then I saw an O Gauge Colorado Midlands reefer;

So I decided to try my hand at it.  Found a silver McCoy reefer convention car, left the roof blue and the doors silver but repainted the body yellow, and made up some water-slide decals.  Here's the result, a car that was never made, but maybe almost was, if Bob had ever followed through on his design:
