Just got one. Tried it both ways, but so far the locomotive does not respond. It works fine on track power except no bell or whistle. I assume I need a factory reset on the locomotive.

Should I just drag it all the way out to Reed's Hobby, or is there anybody in west San Diego area who can do this reset?

I think you're correct about needing the engines reset. If they've ever been on a DCS track and assigned, then no doubt about it.

I drove about 200 miles and paid $15 to have an engine reset ...Well worth the effort!
