What could be causing this? I bought it brand new back around 2007ish and I started noticing this last year. It's getting worse. It is an unpowered locomotive with lights. I have its powered brothers 304 & 303 and they look fine. Could I get someone to fix it? Would MTH fix it even though it's out of warranty? And even worse, will it continue to spread? 20240303_01582520240303_015813

You can’t expect MTH to fix something almost 20 years old. That’s like the equivalent of asking for a lifetime warranty….Your problem looks like contamination craze, …..perhaps a tiny scratch had gotten some smoke fluid in it, and unbeknownst to you, it leached into the paint, & crazed it,…….You might find a shell on the secondary market. There’s always a plethora of MTH shells on the secondary market.

Spot on I had this happen once before it’s smoke fluid or oil of some type.
