I am considering ordering a pair of 2-unit O scale 2-rail E7's. My 2-rail layout uses DCS, V 6.10. Can I "lash up" and run two O scale 2 rail locomotives using my DCS, or must I operate these two DCC locomotives conventionally with 12 VDC? Will these two 3rd Rail locomotives have different addresses so that DCS can even lash them up? (Apologies to Rich for the "lashup" term.)
The TIU will not operate Locomotives in DCC mode. It can only control DCS equipped engines. Protosounds 3 equipped engines can be controlled in DCS mode by the TIU or in DCC mode by a DCC command station. If you do not have a command station then conventional DC is the only way to run them, do not try to run them with DCS on the track, the DCS and DCC signals are not compatible!
