When connecting multiple TUI's together will the remotes talk to both of them ? I guess to put this another way, when I spread my TIU's out in my Basement will the controllers be talking to the closest TIU to there proximity. Im have a problem with controllability at one end of the basement do to a wall interfering. When the second level goes up it will have it's own TIU so putting this one at the other end of the basement should alleviate this problem ? Correct?

Tiu do not communicate with each other, The remote must be in range of the tiu the train is operating in. That might mean walking closer to the tiu...
Remotes always attempt to communicate with all TIUs that are entered in their TIU List.

When one or more data packets are sent from the DCS Remote to the TIU,they contain the address of the TIU for which the packets are intended. Only the TIU that is addressed in a packet will actually process the packet. All other TIUs will ignore packets that are addressed to other TIUs. Each packet also contains a data item that has the DCS ID number of the engine for which the command is intended, as well as an actual command itself.

Wiz, I'm not sure what you're asking, but I have multiple TIUs, in super mode, each controlling a portion of the layout, and locos stay under control no matter where they wander.

Exactly the same on our layout.
You must be in range of the tiu the train is operating in. (normal or super mode) Ex.. If the train is operating in TIU #2s zone(track wired to Tiu#2) and the remote is out of range of tiu #2 but in range of all the other tiu you definitely get "error messages")

I agree with you, Gregg. Has to be a huge layout to lose comms. I can communicate 50' through a concrete wall. TIU should be mounted pretty much line of sight to avoid obstacles that could impede a signal, like chickenwire or a transformer.
