I don't know why it's taken this long, but I've finally gotten sick of the silly cab chatter from my MTH engines. I love the sound effects (engine revving, brakes screeching, horn, bell) so I don't want to lower the overall volume, but I would like to be able to disable the engineer talking while the diesel is in neutral.

I have two PS/1 engines and I've managed to deactivate the cab chatter on both of those, but I cannot figure out how to do the same for my PS/2 engine. For clarification, I do not have a DCS system. I run these engines conventional (until I can afford a TIU that is). I do, however, have a Z4K transformer (if that helps).

Is it possible to disable this feature on a conventional layout?

I don't think there is a way in conventional. It is very easy to turn off Cab Chatter in command mode. You might post generally where you live and maybe someone near you could turn the feature off in command mode. Most of the time, when you turn a feature off in command mode, it carries over into conventional mode. Some dealers are also willing to help if you have a MTH dealer nearby.
