So I went to York and overindulged in train purchasing. All was going well until my wife had my email open to access my Fax2mail account. A O-gauge Forum Notification popped up telling her that someone liked my topic response. Of course that had to be the "What did you buy  at York thread", with my listings of my York purchases in the body of the e-mail. Yes I am in the dog house once again.....Howl

Vince from Vince's Trains gave me some good advice. He said, get into selling trains like I do. That way the wife doesn't know whats for inventory and whats for your collection. I noticed though, every York show after he told me that, his wife was helping. I wonder if she was catching on. Really miss him being at York.

So some of you think that this is getting old or thin. Yes I get caught sometimes and get creamed by my wife. Yes she hates for me to buy trains or spend any money for that matter. Yes I get caught once or twice a year, but consider I have purchased nearly 900 trains items over the last 18 years I have a pretty good win loss stats. I have to admit that I get train obsessive and I have a tendency to over purchase. I don't like it but many times I need a little (or a lot) of a reality check from my wife.

Don't listen to the grumps.  Some of those posts of your wife burying your trains were classic.  Already looking forward to post Fall York 2017.  I'll email her and remind her to check the car just so we have another post.

I'll second that. I enjoy Scott's posts, it adds something different to the forum. It also shows that not everyone has it easy having your trains and a significant other too.

Blessed is the man who has a wife that loves trains too. Cursed is the man who has a wife who feels her husband loves his trains more then her. She will eventually find the attention she demands elsewhere. Blessed is the man who has a wife who understands men are "doers" and needs to be doing to keep his mind healthy. Blessed is the women who has a husband who understand women are "talkers" and crave attention to their spoken words, which relay their feelings. Happy wife, happy life.

Scott, I agree with MartyE, I personally enjoy these posts. I have the same problems once in a while myself, so I can relate!! Most of my friends all have the same problems as well, maybe not with trains but with their hobbies, whatever that might be. And a little humor now and then is also good for the forum. This should all be fun, but I think things get a bit too serious every now and then and it's good to lighten up a little. If I see a post I don't like or think one is getting old, I just skip it and go to the next one, there are plenty of others here to read and some thing of interest for everyone that likes trains.

I just don't understand why you would give your wife access to your e mail account.Sounds HEN PECKED to me.

My wife does not go through my e-mails--even if she did I would not object. Some people on the forum are aware of the medical issues my daughter is having. My email account is the one tied to my Fax2Mail account. She was sending off a form to get medical records released and saw the notification came in from OGR while my e-mail was open.
