I like a bunch of the names but the one I think of most is the S.S & S.  The Surry, Sussex and Southampton, a narrow gauge Va. logging road that ran from a port on the James River south and east through the swamps. Its nickname was the "Sick, Sad and Sorry". My son lived in the area(so did Michael Vick) and we  explored some of the right away and locations. there is a station or two still around and a box car was restored. I have a book written about the road.  One of the engines survives on a tourist RR.

Defiantly the Pennsy.

There is just something about a Pennsy steam engine that is appealing to me.

Maybe it's that Belpair Fire Box or that high mounted headlight or Keystone number plate on their passenger and mixed freight engines or that unforgettable Banshee whistle.

Whatever item listed above the Pennsy is my favroite.

Merry Christmas everyone from the Strittmatters

Pretty much any railroad I can remember seeing as a kid in the 80s and early 90s. The Chessie system, Family lines, SCL. But I've always thought hands down the Southern railway had the best looking locomotives. My favorite engine on the rails today is NS's heritage Southern 8099 es44ac. Thats just my opinion, and you know what they say about them. Merry Christmas!

BIG Four (NYC), B&O, C&O, Illinois Central, Kentucky and Indiana Terminal (K&I), L&N, Monon, Pennsylvania, Southern Railway. These were the railways I grew up around as a kid from Louisville, Ky. Please don't hold being from Louisville against me, especially if they beat U of K this weekend! .......Your all's only friend........................... Brandy!
