When I put a freight train together it is going to resemble an abbreviated version of a train that actually ran over its home road. Here is southbound FW&D 131 that has just filled at Quanah, TX.  Picked up were loads of wallboard and bulk gypsum from Georgia Pacific and boxcar loads off Frisco 537.  Next comes plug door boxcars of Coors beer from Golden, CO., and loads from affiliated Hill lines cars coming out of Wendover, WY.  The rear tonnage is ag commodities from Amarillo, TX.

The tail of 134 coal hopper train wb in Parkville, MO today. Couldn't fit the rest of the train in.

Your video is GREAT! I have just one comment on your post. The Diesel in your video looks to be an EMD PRR E7 locomotive based on the body length and the 6-wheel trucks. The F7 was a shorter locomotive with 4 wheel trucks.

Rich.  I have the exact same set.  That was a great Christmas wasn't it.  All my friends wanted the red and silver Santa Fe.  Nobody wanted the yellow & green D&RG.  Sure glad Santa made a great choice.  Luv that magna traction.

Nice work, Robert!  That sure is made up prototypically for the pre-merger era with typical SD9 power.  I notice that you added some undulating track, which is also prototypical for Fort Worth & Denver.

Your personal record has been awarded ten merits for acquiring and coupling up a prototypical freight train consist from long-departed Texas railroads, and for incorporating undulating territory en route, as is prototypical for the FW&D.

I can actually answer your question. To answer your question, no, the layout is apart of his personal collection. I have been working for him for three years now and we have been working on the layout for about a year now. Recently, the layout has reached a point where we can run about two trains on its mainlines so we have taken a break in construction and now we have been building trains. My son assembled this MPC era GS-2 powered freight train with an eclectic collection of cars. His theme today was "edible" products.

Forgive my feeble memory. I may have posted this video before.

It is night time in Terryville and there is a camera in Ghost Train Park to film the night freight coming through on track #1 lead by a 736 postwar Berkshire pulling a train of 17 cars.

Here’s a video of a crude oil tanker train.   It’s not the greatest video but it’s better than nothing.

Well fellows, I have nothing than can compare with the length and scale look of PSAP2020's tank train, but thought you enjoy something on a little smaller scale as well (really not scale at all).  This is a combination German / UK train using Mettoy Ltd (UK) freight consist pulled by a Konrad Dressler loco (labeled made in U.S. zone, Germany).  All the cars/loco from the late 40's through the early 50's.

Here is the Konrad Dressler loco and tender, CW from the 50's, ready to leave the depot with its short consist of Mettoy Ltd freights.

Here is a view of the consist.  All 3 freight cars are from Mettoy Ltd in the UK.

Here's some shots taken at dusk of a trio of postwar Santa Fe F's moving a fast freight train. The engineer is hard pressed to keep these powerful locomotives from exceeding the posted maximum authorized speed.

A long freight train winds it way around the harbor and the outskirts of Christopolis in the background.
