Need to replace the rectifier in a Lionel #65 handcar(part #10-8401-20) and my usual resources don't have it. I will appreciate any help in locating one for sale. I can be contacted either by a reply here or by contacts listed in my profile.

I'd be surprised if this isn't just a generic part, do you have a picture?
Checked with Hennings earlier. No luck regarding having one, but he was kind enough to give me the part number. The rectifier itself is about 1/2" square, 1/4" thick with 4 leads.
Thanks for your help -
It's a generic thru-hole bridge rectifier. If they want an arm and a leg for shipping, send me an email and we'll fix you up.
gunrunnerjohn-
Sent you an email regarding the rectifier. Really appreciate your prompt helpfulness. Larry, Thanks to you too.
I think Howard is looking for the original rectifier that clipped on to the frame for the original handcar, not the round 1 amp type.
Do you have a picture of the "stock" rectifier?

John-
Sent you an email with a picture of the #65 handcar with rectifier. Evidently the modern handcars use a round rectifier instead of the square ones. Hope you received my message and can help me.
I sent you an email. The picture was too fuzzy for me to see what you have.
WAHOO!! John, thanks to your patience in working with a slow learner, my handcar is now working. Members of this forum are lucky to have knowledgeable people like you who are willing to help others.
Great, I'm glad the patient lived.
Out of curiosity I checked a couple of parts dealers.
Lionel has the rectifiers in stock
Train tender has them.
S&W has them too.
A $1 generic bridge works as well as paying for the "original" rectifier and $9 shipping from Lionel.

As long as you get one small enough to fit.
I don't see the need to stay with an original either.
I ordered a few quite a while back as part of a larger order during one of their parts sales.
I don't think I paid significantly more than the counter price at Radio Shack for a similar item.
Since the operation was successful, I'm assuming the new one fit.
