I recently started up a GP-9 Diesel Engine (Santa Fe w/ Proto-Sound 3.0 blue/yellow color) after being shut down for about three months. All works well, except there is no sound. Start up and shut down appear normal. Lights on/off appear normal. Smoke on/off appear normal. Simply, no sound. I checked the manual volume control and it is set to full volume (I also tested it at half volume). I rapidly hit volume up on our master remote, and see on the LCD screen that volume up is being selected, but no sound. The manual says to open the bottom of the train and see if the connector to the main speaker has been unconnected - I have not tried that yet. Thought I would ask here on the forum before I go to that extreme. Thank you. Da
