How Lionel may go about botched paint job fixes

Ive seen a few photos and videos of Strasburg 90 models that people recieved. So far, all shown have no number plate, just a red dot mounted to the boiler face, no numbering or lettering. How has Lionel in the past handled these sorts of mix ups? I ask as for nearly 2 grand it seems like its a must-fix.
