Bill: There was an entire thread devoted to the Pittsburgh PCC’s which were rebuilt with LRV front ends on the Western PA Trolley Yahoo Group in 2010. Here’s a link to a photo album from that site which shows before and after photos of all 3 cars that were so modified:

GREAT SOGGESTION.I GOT A LOT OF PICTURES OF THE CAR IN QUESTION ON THE SITE YOU RECOMMENDED HOWEVER I HAD ANOTHER PROBLEM THE 1976 WAS CONVERTED FROM A PREWAR 1400 CAR ,THE R AND t BODY IS FOR A 1700 POSTWAR CAR THERE ARE 5 WINDOWS BETWEEN THE FRONT AND CENTER DORR ON THE PREWAR AND THIS CAR BUT THE POSTWAR 1700 HADS 7 WINDOWS BETWEEN DOORS. A LITTLE ARTISTS LICENCE WILL BE REQUIRED.
ALSO MOST TROLLEY VIEWS ARE 3/4 FROM THE FRONT.SO ONE HAS TO GUESS AT WHAT THE REAR END LOOKED LIKE.

Bill: I believe it was a 1601-series car although still prewar with the same window arrangement as the 1400-series. I'm not familiar with the “R & t body”. Is that an HO or N-scale model?

THE R&T CAR WAS ORIGINALLY CAST IN ALUMINUM IN CLEVELAND BY A GUY NAMED LAHODNY.IT WAS IN O GAUGE AND ROUGH BY TODAYS STANDARDS.I THINK IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A MODEL OF A PITTSBURGH 1700.
YOU ARE CORRECT IT WAS 1603. GALLOPING SNILITY HAS SET IN.

I happened to run across these photos taken in '79 while looking for something else, and was reminded of this post.  I realize this isn't the 1976, but I thought you might find the offside / rear views of value.

Thank you for the rear end picture of the converted car. Ended up with many of the front but often wondered about the back . Looks like no change from original body.
