I posted a thread back in December about getting free stuff from Craigslist (click here) and the guy texted me out of the blue yesterday and said that he found more things and since I was very excited to get the last batch, he wanted me to have it all. He is moving and said that he expects to find more when they enter a part of his basement that they haven't been in 30 years. I'm sending this guy a box of cigars. I'm so elated right now.
Here is what he gave me this time...

nice score.
Wow - with boxes too. That's more than just nice!
Man that is great. Yes, treat the person to something very nice - by doing so you thank him for the stash to date and it helps you get more in the future. Excellent. Thanks for sharing. Good luck on the next load.
Cool!
All I can say is wow! Lucky man! Treat him nice.
Free stuff, can't beat that with a stick.
Is that the Neil Young "Vapor Records" car?
Going to refer to you as "LIONEL-RICHIE" good job
That's what we all dream about. Finding a score like that. Congratulations.

I checked and it does have the 29606 number. Can you elaborate as to why this is special. Is it rare or something?
The 29606 (which is apparently actually considered 29206, though I don't think that's stamped on the car anywhere) marked box indicates it's the original version of a much more common car(identically decorated), the 29218.
The original version was made in small quantities for Neil Young. The later version was considered somewhat limited at the time of it's release, but can be found for sale pretty easily today.
The car itself has a few identifiable differences as written up by Todd Wagner in the 1999 Tom MComas Price and Rarity Guide.
Reading through Todd's write up, it seems the most identifiable are the differences in the molding date (11/96 for original, 1/97 for the later version) inside the car and whether the bottom of the frame has a sticker (original) or embossed (later) info regarding it being a product of Lionel LLC, etc.
In terms of rarity, you don't see the original even offered for sale too often (not sure I've ever seen one for sale at York, and I normally try to glance at the end of the box for these when I see one on a table to check).

Thanks very much for this great info. I'm happy to learn this because I would've taken it out and used it? Now it'll be untouched.
dave45681 has pretty much summed up the story of the 29606 Vapor records car (actually 29206, as the box is mislabeled).
There is an article by Jim Bunte, who worked at Lionel during the time the Vapor records car was made, titled 'Special Order - How uncataloged items like Lionel's Vapor Records come to life'. Actually the download is an entire issue of the Toy Collector magazine, its a large file, the Vapor Records article is on page 112.
