I recently had my Thomas the Tank Engine Diesel locomotive fail with a loud bang.  I took it apart and found the circuit board, pictured below, with paper and threads all over it.  Apparently, two electrolytic capacitors on the board exploded.  (The terminals of the two caps can be seen in the center of the photo I attached.)  I found one of the cases, but I don't know what happened to the other one.  My question is:  Has anyone else had a failure like this with one of the Lion Chief locomotives?  I was able to order a new board from Lionel.  (not cheap...$45 plus shipping and tax!)  My James the Red Engine has also failed, but I can't find a replacement circuit board on the Lionel parts web site.  Does anyone know where I can either buy a new board, or have the old one repaired?  Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

BTW when those two caps failed with a bang, one of the surface mount ic's actually became unsoldered on one side.
