First casting of the nuke plant. The final product will be lightly weather dusted and have all the red marker lights at the top of the tower and grounding rods. There will be a complete sound system with warning alarm to evacuate. The main operations center contains the top half of a motorized rotary beacon that will spin with red danger/warning lights. There will be spotlights in the front of the building(not shown) there are 4 smoke units in the cooling tower with a fan. The smoke exits the cooling tower similar to the real deal. This is NOT a large footprint accessory. The tower is not full scale as it would be overwhelming but is 2 feet tall and very tastefully done. Enjoy the photos. I will have the pre production sample photo in the April lion roars

Lionel has released numerous AEC cars over the years, what's the big deal?

YOUR RIGHT!They even had a reactor remember

We really need to take all of this in stride, folks.  Can't take everything so seriously.  Lionel has always dabbled in nuclear-related themes, as far back as I can remember... most notably the radio-active waste flatcar with two glowing canisters.  I have an MPC version from the early 1980's... and I think that was a re-release of a similar car from Lionel's postwar era (although I'm not 100% certain).

Finally! America's latest and most needed energy plant! Another modern time accessory!

I bet if one can add an operating Gantry crane in that "garage", that would be a neat place to ship all those radioactive flat cars and tank cars!

LOL at the play on letters in the plant's name.

I hate to be dense, but I had trouble making out the letters and didn't get the joke.

The name of the generator is:  WILBLO YERAZEZOV GENERATOR

Glad to hear that, 2 cooling towers will be just about right for the space I have. To build my Nuke plant, a church and a gas station will have to moved but hey I need to generate electricity.

The concepts and features of this are well conceived but the proportions and shapes are not doing it for me.  Not enough hyperbola on the hyperbolic cooling tower and the containment top is too egg shaped instead of an actual dome.  I know it is not built too scale and they want to keep a modest footprint but I need a little more proportion.  But hey, this will encourage me to build one from scratch someday and eventually sell my Lionel 463 Disco Ball reactor.

I remember too the A.C. Gilbert Atomic Reactor science kit - My God, can you imagine the screaming today if it came back to the toy shelves?

we have to many people screaming today for no Reason

This is good idea, because cooling towers are also not limited to just nuclear plants.

One could also have a nuclear plant without a cooling tower.  Thirty years ago I spent two summers working construction at the South Texas Nuclear Project, and the engineers opted to cool the reactors with water from a 7,000 acre lake instead of using cooling towers.
