What LED would you use for buildings 1.8, 3, 5mm? What color warm white, or cool white?

Typically, I'd use a warm white, and probably a wide-angle one. I also think I'd use the largest one I could find, you can get wide-angle ones in 7 and 10 mm sizes. I found some on eBay with a wide angle lens.

I use this type and mount as shown. Scan down the thread I linked a different supplier. For applications needing very bright light I use 100ma LEDs in the same package.

I am using 5mm and have tried both warm white and white. I like to mix them up so the light coming from the buildings is not all the same.

You can get warm white in several color temperatures. As mentioned, you can simulate fluorescent lighting with the plain white ones.
